No matter what your age or stage of life we know you want a happy and healthy pregnancy as well as a safe one. Our office is not only equipped
to handle the medical procedures involved with pregnancy such as lab work, ultrasonography and amniocentesis we are equipped to handle the emotional aspects as well. Certain situations require special care and emotional support and our staff is well versed in handling these cases including teen pregnancies. At Omega OB/GYN you will be encouraged to actively participate in your care alongside our highly trained staff.

Omega physicians deliver babies at the Medical Center of Arlington.  MCA has a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art Labor and Delivery unit, staffed with Registered Nurses.  There is also a Level-3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit if your newborn should need special care.  For more information on MCA’s Women’s Services, click here. 

Sonography

A sonogram can help you, and your doctor, get to know your baby before its arrival. Ultrasound technology is helpful in all fields of medicine but it is particularly beneficial to women, especially if you happen to be with child. This safe and reliable technology allows our doctors to follow the growth of your baby as well as monitor its well being during pregnancy. This technology works by using sound waves that move too fast for the human ear to hear to create pictures of internal organs, and when you are pregnant, of your growing fetus. This is an exciting and painless procedure that has immeasurable benefits. Sonograms can tell your doctor the following:

• The age of the fetus
• If the size of the fetus is appropriate for its age
• The rate of growth
• Location of placenta
• Fetal position, movement, breathing and heart rate
• Amount of amniotic fluid in the uterus
• Number of fetuses present
• Certain birth defects
• The sex of the fetus (if you don’t want to be surprised!)
